Highly recommended manga

The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese and the sequel The Carp on the Chopping Block Jumps Twice are one of the finest yaoi titles I have ever read.
The characters are amazing and well-developed. The relationship is realistic and full of emotion. The frank, engrossing conversations. Everything about this manga is good. This isn't a yaoi manga with a good story... This is a good story that happens to be yaoi. If only there were more in the genre like this one!

Oh!!! One of those mangas that people either really really really love or really really really NOT love. I know quite a few people commented hating the push pull push pull push pull effect it had. I didn't like the push pull factor either, but there WAS a reason to the push pull factor. Me and a friend were discussing this manga avidly just a month or so ago. We concluded that darkie was too... too much of "go with the flow"....whilst blondie was feeling insecure BECAUSE of it. His obsession made him do all the crazy things that he did. I didn't really get the part where darkie was commenting that blondie was basically going insane, when they were parting at the genkan, and blondie went from "I dont' care about you anymore" to "fuck me just this one last time"....then suddenly darkie fucked him. THat part confused me. Darkie said "I'm a mass of desire right now"...maybe he just came to realise that... he couldn't fight it??

But I particularly LOVED how the end was concluded...i.e their discussion at the busstop. Don't you think darkie was being VERY ASSERTIVE then and PUTTING his foot down?? LIke, LIfe shoudln't be this hard. Love shouldn't be this hard. He was basically saying "JUST GIVE IT A TRY DAMMIT AND STOP FUCKING RUNNING AWAY AND CHANGING YOUR MIND EVERYTIME!!" I loved seeing him FINALLY FIRM, and SPEAKING UP about how he truly felt instead of going with the flow. I really needed that.

Sorry about "darkie" and "blondie". I can't for the life of me remember their names at the moment.
